Mark Knight has managed dynamic local and national nonprofits for 20 years. For the last six years he has raised grants, program-related investments and loans for two very small nonprofit funds that finance affordable housing. As CEO, fundraising was only one of his jobs, accomplished on a shoestring budget. He inaugurated new relationships with and obtained grants and investments from foundations and public funding sources. He launched a major donor program and expanded direct mail appeals. At the same time he retooled IT systems to meet reporting and compliance requirements. One loan fund grew from $2M to $11.5M in 3 years. Net equity by 45% in FY 2006. Mark holds a dual masters in social work and public administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
