Speakers for this session:

Kirenjeet Bansal
Global Implementation Manager, National Corporate Leadership
United Way International

Currently, Kirenjeet is responsible for the coordination and implementation of global account management for United Way`s leading corporate partners. This includes the set up of employee giving, volunteering, corporate and foundation giving, and other opportunities to encourage global corporate philanthropy. Kiren also serves as the liaison for the Caribbean Region United Ways. Prior to this role, Kirenjeet directed the annual campaign for United Way International managing direct mail, board solicitations, grant writing/reporting, leadership/major giving, online and other fundraising activities supporting general operations. Kirenjeet has a record of successfully reaching campaign goals earning her the Lorry Vishnia Staff Excellence Award in 2007 from the United Way of Summit County. In a voluntary capacity, Kirenjeet has 14+ years of fundraising experience for cultural & charitable organizations, with an interest in youth engagement, corporate social responsibility, and diversity and inclusion. Kirenjeet holds a BA from the University of Southern California.

Robert Hansen
Director of Development
American Counseling Association Foundation

Robert came to Alexandria from St. Louis where he served as Major Gifts Director for the Midland Division of The Salvation Army and worked with corporate volunteers. He created a team that approached a foundation for $10,000,000 and received $3,000,000 with the understanding that they would receive additional $2 million after the $5 Million was matched. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree (D. Min.) from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago; a Master’s degree (M. Div.) from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary; and a B.A. from Salem University in West Virginia. He has been a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 1995.

Juanita Ortiz
Director, Major Gifts Expansion Initiative
United Way International

Juanita has over thirteen years of experience working in the non profit world. Currently she works for United Way World Wide, where she helps international members develop major giving programs. Previously, Juanita oversaw a $4 million portfolio, consisting primarily of major donors, at the United Way in Miami, Florida. Her responsibilities included major giving and leadership strategies in the workplace as well as engaging, cultivating and renewing major gifts with individuals of high net worth and developing a strategic plan for the program’s growth locally. Juanita has also worked abroad with several non profits at the local, national and international level including the Arias Foundation for Peace and Human Progress in Costa Rica, the Colombian Center for Philanthropy in Bogota and with UNICEF`s Latin America Regional Office. Juanita graduated from Brown University and has pursued master’s level coursework at la Universidad Javeriana in Latin American studies.
