Jennifer has worked in the youth corps and national service fields since 1993. She served as CYCA`s Associate Director for seven years and was responsible for developing new youth corps programs, managing CYCA`s accreditation process, providing technical assistance to the field, engaging in strategic communication with state and federal elected officials, and managing CYCA`s AmeriCorps Program. As CYCA`s Executive Director, Jennifer oversees resource development, legislative advocacy, and strategic communication for the Association. Currently, she raises approximately $1.2 milion from a variety of sources including corporations, private foundations, and government sources, She researches and writes (or oversees the writing of) approximately 15 grant applications annually. She earned a B.S. in Psychology and a M.S. in Management and Organizational Behavior.
In her current position, Kaia provides grant writing assistance and evaluation support to over 30 non-profit organizations, foundations and state agencies throughout Colorado, focusing on strengthening proposal writing and grant management practices through evaluation. As funders increasingly expect accountability and performance based programming, winning grant proposals are those that have strong evaluation components. Kaia offers grant writing experience for Federal, state and local grants, as well as foundation proposals. She is a board member on the Tri-County Board of Health, has a Ph.D. in Sociology and offers over 30 years of research experience in the fields of health, education and human services.
Kim has been involved with non-profits for twelve years as a director, volunteer, manager, fundraiser and board member in the areas of theatre, youth programs, health, education and disabled sports. Currently she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of development, including grant proposal writing. Kim is a member of the Heuga Center’s leadership team and responsible for raising $1.8M per year. As Managing Director of the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre she was the lead professional in grant proposal writing, event management, marketing and promotion. During her time with CBMT, she increased restricted funding by 50%. Kim is an expert in proposals to foundations as well as major pharmaceutical companies and corporate entities. Kim has Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Creative Writing with completed coursework for a Masters of Administration in Health Services. She is a member of AFP and of the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable.
Our unique one-on-one mentoring sessions offer you the opportunity to sit down with an experienced fundraising professional for 30 minutes to discuss any questions that are specific to your organization. Mentoring sessions cover the same topics as the seminars, and we will assign you a mentor based on his/her availability at your requested times.
Mentoring sessions are available for the cost of $60.00 per session. If you register for a full Summit pass, 2 mentoring sessions are included in the pass.
