Jennifer has worked in the youth corps and national service fields since 1993. As Executive Director of the Colorado Youth Corps Association, Jennifer is responsible for raising funds for a $350,000 operational budget as well as $600,000 to $700,000 annually for Colorado youth conservation corps. She writes proposals to private foundations, corporations and state and federal government requesting funds to support both operational and program costs. She works collaboratively with youth corps and CYCA staff to develop and submit these proposals. Prior to becoming the Executive Director, she served as CYCA`s Associate Director for seven years and was responsible for developing new youth corps programs, managing CYCA`s accreditation process, providing technical assistance to the field, engaging in strategic communication with state and federal elected officials, and managing CYCA`s AmeriCorps Program. She earned a B.S. in Psychology and a M.S. in Management and Organizational Behavior.
Having fifteen years experience in marketing communications proved to be excellent practice in the skill of persuasive writing for Kathleen’s career move to nonprofit fundraising. Now, eleven years into grantsmanship and corporate and foundation relations, Kathleen’s grant proposals and relationship-building expertise have resulted in millions of dollars in new grants for elementary and higher education, affordable housing, the arts, legal training, the environment, social services and historic preservation for small to large nonprofit organizations. In just nine months as the National Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for Mercy Housing, Kathleen raised nearly $5 million through grants and corporate sponsorships. Kathleen earned a BA in Education and English and expects to obtain her CFRE by fall 2008.
For nearly two decades decade, Kay Peck has served diverse nonprofit organizations in obtaining the funding needed to provide culturally sensitive service and support. She has successfully raised over $20 million, primarily through grants, specializing in serving minority organizations (e.g. Hispanic, Native American, and gay/lesbian/bisexual/ transgender [glbt]). She specializes also in aiding mainstream organizations (primarily higher education and healthcare) in raising money for and from diverse populations. Grant experience includes numerous successful federal and state requests as well as many successful foundation proposals from both regional and national foundations.
Our unique one-on-one mentoring sessions offer you the opportunity to sit down with an experienced fundraising professional for 30 minutes to discuss any questions that are specific to your organization. Mentoring sessions cover the same topics as the seminars, and we will assign you a mentor based on his/her availability at your requested times.
Mentoring sessions are available for the cost of $ per session. If you register for a full Summit pass, mentoring sessions are included in the pass.
