Paula Brown, CFRE, has more than 20 years of professional fundraising experience. She has served as chief development officer for a number of different agencies, and has been very involved in board development for both governing boards and advisory boards. Paula has worked for health care, educational and human services agencies in New York, New Jersey and Michigan, including Covenant House, Brandeis University, Planned Parenthood and the YMCA. Paula has served as a member of the AFP-NJ Board, Offender Aid & Restoration-NJ Board and is a new member of the Plymouth YMCA board. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University and briefly taught elementary music education in the Roseville and Mt. Clemens school districts while continuing her education in early childhood development. Paula is Chief Development Officer for Starfish Family Services and chair of the 2008 AFP-National Philanthropy Day Dinner.
Sharon Maier is the Executive Director of Services for Older Citizens. Sharon has tripled the agency budget through creative fundraising and promoting philanthropy among board members and the community. Sharon credits the agency`s growth to the strong board that she help recruit and empower. She increased the donor base from 1000 to 6000, expanding annual donations from $10,000 to $110,000. Sharon will receive her Masters degree in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary`s of Minnesota in December 2008 with extensive studies in board development. She serves on the board of the 501 Alliance
Patricia Warner leads the strategic management of EMU’s corporate and foundation relationships for the purpose of maximizing the investments of these constituencies. In past positions, she served as the director of development at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University, the first executive director of the Humane Society of Livingston County, and as the Vice President of Advancement for the Capital Area Humane Society. Patty is successful building volunteer boards to support organizational missions and maximizing their major-gift performance through development coaching, progressive involvement in relationship-building, and donor-centered stewardship . She is a member of AFP, since 1987, and a board member for EMU’s American Humanics program. She earned a Bachelors degree from Michigan State University in Communications with a minor in public relations, and a Master’s degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Public Administration with certification in nonprofit management.
