Since 2008 Michael has served as the ASPCA’s director of its grants program, which doles out over $5 million annually to animal welfare organizations in the United States. Michael began his career in philanthropy in 1999 as a volunteer in Oregon at Our House of Portland, a resident AIDS care facility, where he later served as their interim development director. He worked at both Oregon Health Sciences University Foundation and Marylhurst University, also in development, and later served as the marketing director for Triangle Productions, a regional theater. He simultaneously worked as a marketing director for an AXA Financial insurance consultant with an emphasis on using insurance products as charitable instruments. He spent 2007 as part of the consulting team at the New York Regional Association of Grantmakers doing research for two publications: The Donors’ Guide to Gulf Coast Relief and Recovery and Best Practices in Disaster Grantmaking.
Vic has been the president of the Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation since 2000. Established in 1947, the Foundation promotes a sustainable and just social and natural system. It supports grassroots organizations nationally and in New York City. Vic joined the Foundation in 1991 as a program officer. Vic is a board member of the New York Regional Association of Grantmakers and the Funders Network for Population, Reproductive Health and Rights. He serves on the Advisory Board for the Diversity in Philanthropy Project and the Council on Foundation’s Committee on Family Philanthropy. A former VISTA Volunteer, Vic was the director of the Ironbound Community Corporation, a Newark community-based organization. He is a founding and current board member of New Jersey Citizen Action. Vic is serving his third, three-year term on the Maplewood Township Committee (NJ), currently serving as Mayor.
As Director of Programs at the New York Women`s Foundation, Jacqui oversees the Foundation’s grant–making and public education initiatives. Before joining the Foundation, Jacqui held positions within Citigroup`s Global Community Relations Division as Regional Director for the Northeast and Puerto Rico and Vice President & Director of U.S. Partnerships and Program Development where she developed programs and managed partnerships with local, regional and national nonprofits. Jacqui has over sixteen years experience in NYC`s nonprofit sector, as a former Vice President for Community Investment at United Way of New York City, Child Welfare Policy Analyst at the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, Director of United Neighborhood Houses’ Staff Development Initiative; Director of Program Development and Quality Assurance at the Society for Seamen’s Children (Staten Island), and Director of Development at Harlem United Community AIDS Center. Jacqui holds a M.S. in Policy Analysis and Public Management from SUNY Stony Brook.
Dr. Landsman has worked in his current position for the past for seven years. He is responsible for growing a grants program that drives science forward and encourages the translation of research results to the greater spinal cord community. He manages a research portfolio of approximately $12M representing 90+ active grant contracts and more than $4M in new grants awarded each year. Prior to joining the Reeve Foundation, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania (Dept. of Neuroscience) and he received his doctoral degree in neuropharmacology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
