Chris Mildner has 18 years of experience in prospect research, donor relations and database management. Her prospect research skills have progressed from the time that hard-copy and dial-up sources were scarce, to adventuring through the contemporary terrain of knowledge management, data mining and predictive modeling. As a former business owner with a degree in intercultural and organizational communication, she brings a global and entrepreneurial perspective to her work. Chris has made presentations to APRA, CASE, the Council for Resource Development and database user’s groups. Since 1995, she has been an editor of the Internet Prospector, a Chronicle of Philanthropy Best of the Web site, and a contributing writer to Connections, the professional journal of the Association of Prospect Researchers for Advancement (APRA). She coordinates the Portland metro area Raiser’s Edge User’s Group, REPdx and assists with event planning for Willamette Valley Development Officers.
In her current role as a consultant, Brenda provides counsel to nonprofits in the areas of grantwriting, corporate and foundation relations. Her clients range from a local farmers market to local affiliates of national nonprofits such as United Way. Prior to founding Adept Diva Consulting, Brenda`s fundraising responsibilities included sponsorship management, grantwriting, corporate and foundation relations for a number of nonprofit organizations. During this time, she acquired extensive experience and knowledge of local, regional, and national funders and the grant seeking process. Brenda teaches courses in grantwriting, fine tuning grant research, and volunteer management.
Lynn taught persuasion and advocacy at the undergraduate and graduate level for ten years before launching a career in the nonprofit sector. She has served as a Board Member and consultant to grantmaking organizations, and has also served as a Development Director for education, social service, and arts organizations. She was a trainer for the Grantsmanship Center, based in Los Angeles, and taught week-long seminars in Program Planning and Proposal Writing in many U.S. cities. She also taught grantwriting for Antioch University. In her current role, she assists faculty members, program directors, and administrators as they conduct research and identify appropriate foundation prospects and partners with them to produce persuasive, professional and comprehensive proposals and reports. Lynn holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Penn State
