Speakers for this session:

Mason Blacher
President
Mason Jay Blacher & Associates

Mason is founder of a Seattle-based fundraising consulting firm focusing on major and planned gifts, serving clients throughout the USA and abroad since 1981. Blacher served as Director of Major Gifts at Stanford University, directing the full range of individual giving programs for the Graduate School of Business. He is especially regarded for his work in major gift solicitations, which involves guiding organizations and volunteers to seek six- and seven- figure and larger gifts, even from first-time donors. Blacher previously served Dominican College (now University) of San Rafael, California as Assistant Dean and Director of Public Information. He has a B. A. (1973) in classics and an M. A. (1975) in college administration from Stanford, studying for his Ed. D. in higher education administration under David B. Tyack and the late Lewis B. Mayhew.

Dav`ne has been a development professional since 1982, starting her career at the YMCA of Greater Milwaukee. Since then she has led numerous annual and capital campaigns, directed development, communication and strategic development teams for numerous nonprofit organizations, both as staff and consultant. Currently, as Associate Director, Leadership Gifts at Seattle Opera she is responsible for managing a $75,000,000 campaign and board of trustees, corporate, foundation and government annual giving. She is an active member of AFP and NDOA and received her bachelors’ degree at Alverno College, Milwaukee, WI.
